Deuce Hillebrand
July 2001 – December 21, 2010
My sweet baby boy,
From the moment I met you I fell in love with your spirit. You were fearless as a pudgy little puppy whose ears weren’t yet strong enough to stand up, all the way into adulthood when you became the most graceful and handsome dog you could ever be. Despite your propensity to chase cars, and therefore the resulting loss of your front leg, you lived life as though nothing could stop you; and nothing ever did. I never knew a tri-pawed dog could dig holes in the garden, run as fast or faster than his brother Brooklyn, and just live life as though nothing had changed – I think in your mind you were still just as strong and capable as ever. You taught me so much about being brave and steadfast, even when you started having seizures and your joints started to give way. You still made an effort to come over to me and nudge my hand with your cold wet nose to say hello or ask for an ear or belly rub. The house is empty without you, and we all miss you so very much. You will always be my most special boy, mama’s little man, and I will always appreciate how much you loved me, and how much you meant to everyone in your life.
Rest in peace sweet Deuce, until we meet again.
